WHAT OUR DIETITIAN WANTS YOU TO KNOW

As a registered dietitian, I am inspired by my clinical experience to promote wellness through food and healthy eating. I hope through the food I provide for Tailor Made Soiree guests, each individual can be inspired to incorporate more tasteful and flavorful plant-based foods into their diet. Healthy eating can be as easy as having one extra serving of vegetables in each meal.

WHY WE VALUE LOCAL INGREDIENTS

Opting to purchase produce from local sources can result in shorter travel times from distribution centers to grocery stores. This, in turn, reduces the time frame between the farm and your plate, leading to a lower loss of nutrients in fresh food. Additionally, locally sourced food offers environmental benefits as it requires less transportation from other states or countries and supports nearby farming communities.

WHY WE VALUE ORGANIC AND SEASONAL PRODUCE

Organic produce contains fewer pesticides and toxic chemicals. Seasonal foods are more nutrient-dense as they are picked at their prime and involve less water and land use. They are produced during their natural growing conditions without the need for additional ripening chemicals. We hope to include seasonal and organic items into our menus as much as possible as they are beneficial for the environment and our health.

WHY WE VALUE PLANT-BASED INGREDIENTS

Plant based ingredients focus on the use of fruit, vegetables, grains, legumes, beans, nuts, and seeds. Plant based foods provide a variety of antioxidants, phytochemicals, flavonoids, fiber, enzymes, and various vitamins and minerals that the body needs to thrive. Along with the health benefits, adopting a more plant-based diet reduces environmental impacts as it has less greenhouse gas emissions and less cropland and fresh water use than animal based foods.
